About the Job
LILY, Character is a white female, 10–13 years old. Bright, kind, tough and emotionally perceptive, LILY is one of the few youthful, lively presences in an otherwise aging and worn-down rural American town. A devoted K-pop fan, she has been inspired by her favorite group to begin writing her own music, singing and dancing along with it herself. Though currently somewhat distant toward her father, there is still a deep love between them. In the film, we see Lily both healthy and later physically weakened by terminal illness, requiring an exceptional young actor capable of handling both the emotional and physical transformation of the role with honesty. The emotional climax of the film rests heavily on Lily, so strong dramatic acting ability is essential. TALENT MUST HAVE SOME SINGING AND DANCING ABILITY. A PERSONAL INTEREST IN K-POP IS A PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED. SUPPORTING.
